My name is Kris. I am an avid hockey fan and die hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan. I collect Ian White hockey cards and a variety of other hockey cards, memorabilia, and odds and ends (including mini mugs, mini Stanley Cups, autographed memorabilia, bobble heads, etc). Collecting Ian White was a "kill two birds with one stone" opportunity for me a few years ago as I enjoyed Ian White's style of play and he was a Leaf as well. I was not too happy he was traded by Brian Burke because I think he was young enough to be part of the Leaf rebuild and I think he will be a great player one day in the future and Toronto could have benefited from that. To no avail though, but I have not stopped collecting his cards. It would be a somewhat mixed blessing if Ian white broke out as a player, as he would get more hobby love from UD, ITG, and Panini, but then it would also mean I would have lots more to chase (which may be part of the fun). Nonetheless, I continue along attempting to expand my collection of Ian White and other cards. I especially like sets such as The Cup Limited Logos, Ultimate Premium Patches, Trilogy Ice Scripts, and Sweet Shot Ice Signings. I like large patches, on card autographs, and the variety of acetate cards in Ice and UD Black. I focus a little more on autographs compared to jerseys and patches. An autograph, while usually mass produced, seems a little more personal than a jersey that came from who knows where to get cut up and put in a card. The many discrepancies with is it or isn't it "game used" have made me hesitant to focus on memorabilia.
One of my other interests besides hockey, hockey cards, and hockey memorabilia, is technology, whether it is a cell phone, computer, TV, or any other device that has been developed. I am very interested in the advances in technology which have been making the world a better, more connected, easier, and more entertaining place to live. Some of us may take for granted things like computers, TVs, and cell phones, which weren't even around 50+ years ago. It's amazing the changes and advances that have been made so quickly.
(Awesome video of a great hip check and decent fight featuring Ian White!)
